Dear 4/5 TIGER RESERVE Parents,

  Our Animals in Action activity went so well yesterday! We would like to thank all of the students for coming to learn and doing such a phenomenal job working as field biologists! We also want to give a special thanks to all of the parent volunteers who helped make the day go so well—we appreciate your help so much!

We just wanted to keep you updated on a few things:

1.       We do have a spelling test each week. The students receive their spelling list on Monday and they take their tests on Friday mornings. (This list is also posted on our website at http://jk172.k12.sd.us.) Please continue to help your child practice these spelling words throughout the week.

2.     Both the 4^th and 5^th graders have been participating in a math facts boot camp for the past two weeks. The students have been working hard to improve their speed and accuracy, which will allow them to be more successful with their math this year. If after these two weeks, we feel your child needs additional help, we will be in touch with you. Please be sure to practice math facts daily if your student needs additional practice—just 5 minutes will help greatly!

3.     We are still in need of volunteers during our math times.

-Miss Kuiken (5^th grade): Tuesday 1:30-2:30 and Thursday 1:30-2:30

-Mr. Knips (4^th grade): Tuesday 1:30-2:30
